One week before the 2011CCC blast off!
This annual ride shares the highlights the Coast Classic: scenic riding, friends & fellowship, and good food. Three routes available (71 miles or 49 miles or 35 miles). Starting point is at the McInnes Golf Center in San Rafael.
The Lucas Valley/Pt. Reyes adventure.
Route A: 71 miles with 4,180 feet of climbing. Lunch in Pt. Reyes Station. (Long route)
Route B: 49 miles with 2,300 feet of climbing. Lunch in Pt. Reyes Station (Short route)
Route B: 35 miles with 2,000 feet of climbing- Round trip to the Petaluma Cheese Factory.

Various routes available depending on skill/training level (every 2011 CCC rider needs to be able to do the full 47 miles). Please RSVP via email (dakruser@pacbell.net) or phone (510-388-8048) so we know to wait or roll. I can be spotted with an orange cone on top of my Mazda wagon.
Route A: Bicycle Outfitters Loop (Los Altos)- 47 miles with 2,500 feet of climbing. (and lunch at Los Altos Bakery/Deli)
Route B: 32 miles with 1,800 feet of climbing- Portola Valley Loop.
Route C: Woodside Bakery & Huddard Park- 15-22 miles with 500-800 feet of climbing.
Directions to starting point in San Mateo:
1a. From East Bay- take the San Mateo Bridge (Highway 92) West, follow signs to Half Moon Bay.
1b. From 101 South or North- take Highway 92 West (Half Moon Bay).
2. On 92, as you approach the 280 interchange, be in the left lane still following sign to Half Moon Bay.
3. After you go under 280, be in the LEFT lane and TURN LEFT at the 1st signal onto Canada Road.
4. Park on either side of Canada Road on the shoulder.

Saratoga/ Boulder Creek/Big Basin Loop (clockwise).
Route A: 58 miles with 6,280 feet of climbing. Lunch in Boulder Creek.
Route B: 48.5 miles with 5,211 feet of climbing. Lunch in Boulder Creek. Return Hwy 9 (no Big Basin), especially if Hwy 262 is closed/under repair/detoured to massive-steep bypass.
“Big Picture” ride: big redwoods, Big Basin Redwoods State Park, big climbs, and big descents.
Directions to the starting point:
>From all directions (280, 101, 680, or 880): Take Highway 17 West.
Right on Highway 9 to Saratoga.
In Saratoga, Highway 9 does a Left turn onto Big Basin Way… Take it.
Right on 4th Street.
After short downhill, public parking on Left and Right… bathrooms & water available.
Right side preferred: (Wildwood Park).
Start /end ride at Park.

Saratoga-Boulder Creek-Big Basin Girlie Map

Route 1: Moraga/Canyon Rd/Pinehurst/Skyline Blvd/Grizzly Peak/Wildcat Canyon- 27 miles with 2,200 feet climbing. Add route 2 for 47 total miles with 3,900 feet climbing total.
Route 2: Only 3 Bears loop- 24 miles with 1,700 feet climbing.

Detailed directions for West Bay folks-
1. Somehow, get on onto HWY 24 East (to Walnut Creek, etc.)
2. After going though tunnel, take Orinda exit.
3. At Light, turn LEFT onto Camino Pablo.
4. Get into far right lane and turn RIGHT into BART. Do big left hand loop and go over to west of Camino Pablo BART parking. At the “T”, go either left or right to park on the other side of walkway. Free parking on weekends.

Los Gatos/Capitola/Santa Cruz/Mt. Charlie Joyfest…Starts at 8:00am. (A repeat of our June 25, 2011 adventure)
Route A: Starting at beyond Dam parking area-53 miles with 4,400 feet of climbing. The reward = a wonderful lunch at Gayle’s Bakery/Deli!
Route B ??? turnback when ever, where ever.
Directions to starting point:
Meet at Alma Bridge Road parking area-
Directions to the ‘beyond the Dam’ parking:
Continue West on Highway 17 past Highway 9 exits.Take Bear Creek exit, cross over Highway 17 and then return East on Highway 17.
Take next exit (Alma Bridge Road), follow signs to Dam… drive beyond dam and park at paved parking area on right side of Alma Bridge Road (outhouses available).
