1/19 update: Check out this link regarding NO West Side of Bridge “bicycle only” availability. Consider meeting us on the North side of the bridge to avoid co-mingling with those pesky pedestrians. Contact me at 510-388-8048 if you will meet us on the Marin-side-of-life.1  Link provided by Bill.

Cross the Golden Gate Bridge and enjoy various loops:

  • Route 1: Marin Headlands & Paradise Dr Loop- 48 miles with 2,580 feet climbing.
  • Route 2: Paradise Dr Loop without Headlands- 42 miles with1,840 feet climbing.
  • Route 3: Tiburon and return- 35 miles with 1,200 feet climbing.
  • Route 4: Out & Back to end of bike path at Richardson Bay- 18 miles with 600 feet climbing.
  • Route 5: The Alpine Dam loop (featuring the 7 Itch-Bays). This is the clockwise direction. Start/end at Crissy Field, SF.
    Route 5: 53 miles with 3,900 feet of climbing. (add Mt. Tam summit: add 6 miles and 800 ft) Lunch stop in Fairfax after the climbing!

Directions to starting point via MapQuest: Sports Basement, 610 Mason Street, SF. But, go to beach access parking near the bathroom building with wind sock.

Intermediate, hilly. Moderate traffic on Niles Canyon.
Light traffic on scenic Calaveras Road.
38 miles with 2,200 feet climbing

Directions to Ride Start:
Fremont – Bike path staging area on Old Canyon Road just East of Mission Blvd.
MapQuest: Intersection of Old Canyon Road & Canyon Oaks.
