Canada/Hwy 92 (San Mateo): Pescadero/Tunitas Creek Loop

A memorable (long) ride with several loop options.

Route A: 65 miles with 6,000 feet of climbing. Up Old La Honda, lunch in Pescadero, Up Tunitas Creek, Down Kings Mountain/Huddard Park.

Route B: 61 miles with 6,000 feet of climbing. Up Hwy 84, lunch in Pescadero, Up Tunitas Creek, Down Skyline/Hwy 92.

Route C: 50 miles with 4,500 feet of climbing. Up Old La Honda, continue Hwy 84 to San Gregerio (lunch), up Tunitas Creek, down Skyline/Hwy 92.

Route D: 35 miles with 3,800 feet of climbing- return after completing the Old La Honda climb.

Route E: 32 miles with 1,800 feet of climbing- Portola Valley Loop.
Directions to starting point:
1a. From East Bay- take the San Mateo Bridge (Highway 92) West, follow signs to Half Moon Bay.
1b. From 101 South or North- take Highway 92 West (Half Moon Bay).
2. On 92, as you approach the 280 interchange, be in the left lane still following sign to Half Moon Bay.
3. After you go under 280, be in the LEFT lane and TURN LEFT at the 1st signal onto Canada Road.
4. Park on either side of Canada Road on the shoulder.

Directions to the new starting point:
a. Either direction on 680, take the Berryesa East exit (towards the hills), then step b.
More info: South 880, take 237 East to 680, South on 680, then go to step a.
>From Peninsula: South 101, take 237 East to 680, South on 680, then go to step a.
>From San Jose- you’re on your own.
b. On Berryesa, continue East/straight.
c. Look for Berryessa Community Center on right at 3050 Berryessa Rd, San Jose.
d. Right into Parking area- bathrooms, water available in Community Center.


Annual San Rafael/Lucas Valley/Pt Reyes Loop

One week before the 2012 CCC blast off!

This annual ride shares the highlights the Coast Classic: scenic riding, friends & fellowship, and good food. Three routes available (71 miles or 49 miles or 35 miles). Starting point is at the McInnes Golf Center in San Rafael.

The Lucas Valley/Pt. Reyes adventure.
Route A: 71 miles with 4,180 feet of climbing. Lunch in Pt. Reyes Station. (Long route)

Route B: 49 miles with 2,300 feet of climbing. Lunch in Pt. Reyes Station (Short route)
Route B: 35 miles with 2,000 feet of climbing- Round trip to the Petaluma Cheese Factory.

Orinda BART: Crockett/3 Bears loops

Start and end at the Orinda BART parking lot.

Route A: Full loop is 49 miles with 3,700 feet of climbing (Lunch in Crockett). After Crockett,  I have a flat option to do the Carquinez Scenic Drive instead of the steep McEwin wall, therefore, less total climbing.

Route B: Several shorter routes are available (refer to the route map)
