New Year’s Day has become an annual mountain bike adventure. This year we do the Monte Bello Open Space above Cupertino starting at 10:00am.

Distance is approximately 17.5 miles with 2,600 feet of climbing (most of it on Montebello Road to get to the summit) and then great downhills on fire trails and safe single track. Cross two creeks.

Directions to starting point: Parking at Stevens Creek Reservoir at the intersection of Stevens Canyon Road and Montebello Road, Cupertino. Use this link to get to the mapquest site. Bring food and water for the ride and we’ll have a BBQ back at the start/end point in the adjacent picnic area. Please RSVP to either Rich Sims (510-376-2792) or Jerry Kruse (510-388-8048) so we will know to wait or GO!
