SUMMARY:No Cycling4Fun event this week
DESCRIPTION:For the 2026 riding season (through October 2026) I am re-instating the practice of not having an event on the third Saturday of the month.  This will provide time for family planning and obligations without concern about ride participation. Of course you may ride a ride of your choice as a substitute if you feel the need. Occasionally a third party may be having a ride and if I am aware of one I will list it for you.  \n

SUMMARY:Los Gatos: Capitola/Santa Cruz/Mt Charlie
DESCRIPTION:RIDE A: 50 miles with 4\,260 feet of climbing.  One of the big three difficult and demanding rides. in the Cycling4Fun inventory. Starts with some serious climbing then takes it easy on you for a while. But the last quarter of the ride has several long double digit (grade) climbs. \nThe reward = a wonderful lunch at Gayle’s Bakery/Deli in Capitola! Bring water and a little food for the top of the second climb. \nRIDE B: Turn back whenever\, returning from the bakery works but be aware it’s not shorter\, just a little gentler. \nMore information\, map\, cue sheets\, and Garmin download here: \nhttps://ridewithgps.com/routes/33428393 \nThe starting point can be a little tricky. These directions may help: \nWe will meet at Alma Bridge Road parking area (aka: Lexington Reservoir County Park Boat Launch)-\nComing from west\, continue on Highway 17 past the Highway 9 exits. Take Bear Creek exit\, turn left and cross over Highway 17 and then rejoin Highway 17 going East.\nTake next exit (Alma Bridge Road)\, follow signs to Dam… Drive beyond dam to a paved parking area on the right side of Alma Bridge Road (outhouses available).\nThere is free off-road (dirt) parking on both sides of the road but there is a $6.00 fee to park in the paved Lexington Reservoir boat launch area parking lot. \nIf you are planning to ride\, please go to the Cycling4Fun meetup site and click the attend button under the ride notice — https://www.meetup.com/Cycling4Fun/ \nAny changes in these rides\, including cancellation\, due to weather or other evil doing will be posted on the Cycling4Fun.com  website by 7:00am the day of the ride. \nPlease arrive at the start by 8:15am to prepare for an 8:30am departure.
