Niles Canyon: Alameda Creek Trail — CANCELLED See Below

Eastbay parks has sent the following notice
Niles Staging Area and Beard Staging Area are closed due to flooding.
The following underpasses along the Alameda Creek Trails are closed and inaccessible to the public until further notice:
- Isherwood paved
- Highway 880 paved & unpaved
- Alvarado/Fremont Blvd paved & unpaved
- Union City/Ardenwood Blvd paved & unpaved
- Southern Pacific RR – unpaved
Please do not attempt to traverse any of these underpasses. There can be significant flood debris, undercut/eroded trails, slippery conditions, deep mud, high water, etc. Additionally, we are seeing high water levels in the creek which can fluctuate rapidly. Please keep back and do not attempt to go down to the water’s edge. Updated 1/14/2023.
Alameda Creek Trail (out and back): 22 miles total, Very light car traffic. This ride is a light duty ride suitable for beginner’s or experienced riders looking for scenic and relaxing ride.
Basically, a sea level (flat) ride. This is a ride suitable for first-timers. So.. . find a friend who wants to start riding and invite them. There will be several somewhat easy rides scheduled in the first few weeks of this season to encourage new riders along with “normal” rides for others. I have a loaner bike if needed.

This ride starts at the Niles downtown plaza, west parking lot.. 37592 Niles Blvd.
Any changes in this ride, including cancellation, due to weather or other evil doing will be posted on this website by 7:00am the day of the ride.
Arrive by 8:15am and be prepared to depart at 8:30am. Cue sheets/Directions will be on the vehicle windshield for late arrivals. Look for a vehicle in the parking area with an orange traffic cone on top. Ride leader is Bob Carlson. Helmets required.
